Community Development

WIN Job Center

The Workforce Investment Act of 1998 set the stage for the work of the Workforce Investment Network (WIN) throughout the state of Mississippi.  The WIN initiative is administered through the many centers of the Mississippi Department of Employment Security.  WIN combines state, federal, and community development programs in easily accessible, one-stop service centers.  These centers offer a variety of services in areas of unemployment insurance assistance, education, training, human services, and employment, and are networked throughout the state of Mississippi.  The WIN Job Center interacts closely with the Southern MS Planning and Development District to offer an array of workforce services in Greater Hattiesburg. Services are typically provided at no cost.
