Payroll Withholding Tax

The amount of federal income tax withheld from an employees paycheck, and depends on two things: The amount the employee earns, and the information that an employee gives their employer on Form W-4. In Mississippi, the first 10k in earned income is not taxed, and all income above that is taxed at 4.7%.
